PEERS® for Preschoolers
Ages 4 to 6

PEERS® (The Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills) is world-renowned for providing evidence-based social skills treatment to preschoolers, adolescents, and young adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, depression, and other socio-emotional problems.  

 

PEERS Relational Skills Program Moose Jaw Inc. (PEERS MJ) is pleased to offer the 16-week PEERS for Preschool Children, ages 4-6 years. 

 

  • Participant families are selected by intake interview to determine their interest in the PEERS program.

  • Parents are expected to act as Social Coaches and attend the program at the same time as the Participants

  • PEERS meets weekly in the evening, in person, for 90 minute sessions for 16 weeks

  • Online Parent-only classes are also available.

  • Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion for attending the PEERS program.

  • Choosing Play Groups, Sharing and Giving a Turn

  • Preparing for Playgroups and Asking for a Turn

  • Planning for Playdates and Keeping Cool

  • Suggesting Playdates and Being a Good Sport

  • Preparing for Playdates, Show and Tell During Play

  • Coaching During Playdates and Don’t Be Bossy

  • Social Coaching Strategies and Asking a Friend to Play

  • Joining a Game

  • Asking to Play Something Different

  • Asking and Giving Help

  • Staying in Our Own Space

  • Using an Inside Voice

  • Disclosing a Diagnosis or Condition with Others and Final Review (Part 1)

  • Sharing a Diagnosis or Condition with Your Child and Final Review (Part 2)
